Spiders!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI am always looking for new ways to incorporate interesting drawing with the arduous task of learning how to draw diagonal lines, which are very difficult to learn!  After children begin to draw rudimentary oblique lines,  the next step is to draw diagonals in several directions and spatially accurate.

Drills are boring.  Scary spiders are fun!

Equipment:

  • White board or chalk board to practice
  • Paper and drawing tool (markers, pencils, crayons, etc.)

Directions:

  • OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAYounger children draw a circle then draw lines coming off to the right side and the left side

  • OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAs diagonal lines develop, additional detail to the legs can be introduced
  • OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERADrawn faces are left to the creativity of the child (that’s the fun part!!)
